Homburg is located on the edge of the UNESCO Bliesgau Biosphere Reserve. The city has a vibrant commercial and shopping centre and, on every first Saturday of the month, hosts a very popular car boot sale and antiques market. Apart from the market square and Schlossberg elevation with the ruins of Hohenburg fortress, the “Schlossberghöhlen” sandstone caves underneath the fortress are also worthwhile exploring.
