fill in - International Jazz Festival

First organised in 2023, the second edition of Saarland’s international jazz festival "fill in" will kick off on 27 June 2024 with an evening of concerts in Saarbrücken's city centre and jazz bands from Germany and abroad playing in the bars, restaurants and pubs around St. Johanner Markt. For the following three days, jazz drummer and festival director Oliver Strauch has put together a programme featuring up-and-coming as well as established international jazz musicians performing in the city’s “Deutsch-Französischer Garten“ park.

Saarpolygon Opera Festival

In 2024, the first "Saarpolygon Opera Festival" will be staged against the imposing backdrop of the Saarpolygon monument which commemorates the coal mining industry in Saarland. Music lovers can enjoy a production of Mozart's "Magic Flute" directed by Stefano Poda and conducted by Marcus Bosch, both internationally renowned in their fields.

Apollon – Visual Arts Festival

The "Apollon Festival" features a range of audio-visual art genres, combining light art, 3D mapping and façade projections, laser scenography and immersive audio-visual installations. International and regional light and 3D video mapping artists transform the historic buildings of Saarbrücken's Osthafen harbour, transporting the audience into an enchanting world.
