This comfortable holiday on the water combines everything of a fixed and detached holiday home with the advantages of a motor yacht. No driving licence required from the age of 18, you can easily and comfortably steer the hybrid-powered Joylife houseboat with a total boat surface area of 54 sqm, including an 8 sqm covered outside deck and an 18 sqm sun deck, on the Saar. The Joylife houseboats are all equipped with an on-board sewage treatment plant, a fresh water treatment plant, a solar system and a power generator, so that the most self-sufficient ecological life possible is possible on the water.
You can look forward to 1 sleeping suite with panoramic view on the upper deck as well as 4 further generous sleeping berths on the main deck and all equipped with fluffy goose down duvets. The spacious bathroom is fitted with a shower cubicle, bath furniture, mirror and toilet. In the high-end kitchen, which leaves nothing to be desired, you can prepare enjoyable meals and there is also a gas barbecue on the main deck. Entertainment is also provided with TV-radio-music-high-end sound system and WIFI connection on board. The lounge on the covered outer deck or the spacious lounge on the upper deck invite you to relax and enjoy the magnificent view. Many extras such as two stand-up paddles for relaxing gliding over the water or 2 e-scooters for a quick trip to the bakery or exciting shore excursions are included with Joylife Boats.
From Mettlach off on holiday on the water
Your voyage of discovery starts from our base station in Mettlach on the Saar. The ceramics town of Mettlach is characterised by the Villeroy & Boch company and invites you to go shopping with its outlet centre. Your trip on the Joylife Boat on the Saar can then take you downstream to Saarburg, to the beautiful historic wine town. Or you can head upstream towards the Saarland's most famous river bend, the Saarschleife near Orscholz, with Saarbrücken as your final destination. Along the way, many secluded places to linger, adventure forest, tree-top trail and more await you, as well as extraordinary sights such as the UNESCO World Heritage Site at the Völklingen Ironworks. Once you arrive in Saarbrücken, you will feel the relaxed French way of life in the middle of a big city. Places of pleasure like the St. Johanner Markt, the castle and the Staden await you, as do star restaurants, manufactories, courtyards and beer gardens. You can also immerse yourself in culture and urban art: the new Art Walk spans a colourful arc from the baroque palace grounds to Saarbrücken's cultural mile with its state theatre, music academy and modern gallery, and on to the lively Nauwies district.
